Welcome to Jeyadheepan's Homepage

Being a researcher, My research interest is material science of state-of-the-art thin films. I completed my Ph.D. degree work at Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India, on thin film semiconductors, especially on Transparent Conducting Oxide (TCO) thin films. During the course of study I have published two international papers and communicated seven papers to the reputed international journals. During the course of work, I have developed two devices based on the TCOs. One is transparent diodes using the binary oxides of Cadmium and Zinc separately and another is Gas sensor devices based on the TCOs. During my Ph.D. I have developed a photoacoustic spectrometer to study the thermal and optical properties of thin films and materials.

Apart from academic records, i can handle various instruments which can be used to prepare the thin films such as Spray pyrolysis setup, Electron beam/thermal evaporation and RF/DC magnetron sputtering systems and the instruments to characterize the thin films and also materials, such as Powder X-ray diffractometer (PXRD), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer, Photoluminescence and Hall effect setup.

I have sound knowledge in crystal structure determination using various software packages including GSAS, FOX, PANalytical X'Pert Highscore plus, Bruker AXS TOPAS, WinGX and Diamond through Powder X-Ray Diffraction and Single crystal X-ray Diffraction.

One of my notable importance is... I have nimble fingered knowledge in the Virtual Instrumentation and Industrial Automation through Agilent VEE PRO and Basic knowledge in National Instruments Labview.

Currently I am working as a Project Scientist at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. My research interest at the moment are Extraordinary light transmission through subwavelength array of holes in metallic thin films and sculptured thin film structures.
